HARRY BELAFONTE – 93 YEARS OLD
Harry Belafonte just recently passed his 93rd birthday last March and that means another year added to the wonderful and successful life of the legendary actor and singer-songwriter. Over the years, he’s one of the main players when it comes to Caribbean music along with his signature “Day-O” lyric in his classic song Banana Boat. His 1956 album Calypso, brought him international fame and recognition. It also became the first million-selling LP by a single artist in history.
We last saw him on screen in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman. With all of his contributions and fortunes throughout his career, we bet that he had good money management skills since he never showed any issues with his finances. In 2017, Belafonte released “When Colors Converge”. This is an anthology of songs composed by Belafonte’s son David. The arranger is Richard Cummings, who has worked for Belafonte music for a long time.
