SIDNEY POITIER – 93 YEARS OLD
Sidney Poitier made a significant milestone in entertainment history after he won the Academy Award for Best Actor in the 1963 film Lilies of the Field. This paved the way for him to become the first African-American to win the award. That’s not the end of his glorious achievements in his acting career. Poitier also had a couple of nominations including six for the Golden Globe Award.
The American Film Institute also placed him 22nd for the Greatest Male Stars of classic Hollywood cinema. He’s not only good at acting but he’s also well-versed when it comes to proper money management as well. In fact, he served as one of the members of the board of directors for Walt Disney Company for almost a decade. He’s now retired from acting but his contributions still echo in the industry up to this day.
