JOHN ASTIN – 90 YEARS OLD

For those who have seen the classic Addams Family, we bet all the balance in our credit cards that you guys know the character that John Astin portrayed. Yes, he played the head of the infamous Addams Family as Gomez Addams in the last couple of decades. Aside from that, he also appeared in a couple of successful films such as West Side Story, the 1962 film That Touch of Mink and National Lampoon’s European Vacation.

In 1968, Astin’s debut short comedy “Prelude” was released. His first film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Short Film Performance. Johns Hopkins University is Astin’s alma mater. He has also served as the head of the school’s Department of Dramatic Art and Research, a professor in the Homewood Department of Art, providing minor courses for undergraduates. He’s still active in the industry up until this date and hasn’t formally announced his retirement yet. However, it has been years since we last saw him in action.
