GEORGE LUCAS – $100 MILLION, CALIFORNIA
Known for his blockbuster movies, George Lucas is undoubtedly a legend in the movie industry. Early on in his life, he was a big fan of reading classic adventure stories, a fervent collector of comic books, and a keen learner of history. He studied at the University of Southern California in 1967. During his years at the university, George made short films that won first prize in the National Student Film Festival. This gave way for his scholarship from Warner Brothers, allowing him to observe a film production of a movie. Years after, he formed his company, Lucasfilm Ltd.
In 1978, primarily built for the needs of his company, George built the Skywalker Ranch. Inside, the ranch has many different amenities and other things like a vineyard, restaurant, a garden, a fitness center, and a 300-seat capacity theater, to name a few. Although built parcel by parcel, the ranch costs a whopping $100 million in total—so much for investment money.
