ANNA CHLUMSKY

No one alive in the 1990s could not have seen the tragic drama film My Girl without their hearts getting broken when the end credits start to roll in. The film was headlined by child stars Macaulay Culkin and Anna Chlumsky who later appeared in the 1994 fantasy comedy movie Trading Mom alongside Sissy Spacek. However, her film career has not developed smoothly. Just after she decided to give up and obtained a degree in international relations from the University of Chicago, Hollywood opened its doors to her again.

She starred in the British director Armando Rannucci’s “The Smart Man”. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was released in the United Kingdom and North America. Chlumsky momentarily broke away from acting to earn her bachelor’s degree in International Studies, and with an established acting portfolio in her arsenal, she probably did not have to avail of any student loans to graduate. She resumed acting shortly after graduation, recently appearing on the HBO series Veep.
