Tyra grew up in Los Angeles, and her acting career rose from acting as the heroine in TV series and movies adapted from Disney dramas. Tyra started her modeling career at the age of seventeen. Tyra Banks broke through the roofing of the fashion industry in 1991 by walking the Parisian runway for Oscar de la Renta. She modeled for Covergirl two years later, and the rest of the decade saw her work with fashion houses like Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Anna Sui, and Christion Dior. By 2019, Banks’ name and face is recognized by everyone inside and outside the world of fashion as she appeared in both film and television. Many TV viewers tune in to her reality modeling competition America’s Next Top Model. The model mentor and her boyfriend are also parents now through surrogacy.
