SYD BARRETT – PAINTER
Syd Barrett was one of the founding members of the rock band Pink Floyd that rose to fame during the 60s. He revolutionized the guitar techniques and paved the way for the popularity of using dissonance, distortion, and feedback sounds while playing a piece on their lead guitar. Though Barrett had strong talent in music, he had only been active in music for less than ten years.
In 1972, Barrett left the music industry and retired from public life. He became a well-rounded artist and exhibited exceptional skills in painting especially abstract images in large canvases. He often went to London by train to see some major art collections, and he loved flowers. He often went to the botanical garden to observe plants. Due to this, he made a huge investment in his gardening skills, as this is one of his avenues for managing his stress levels.
