SHIRLEY TEMPLE – DIPLOMAT


Shirley Temple is another former child actress that took home the number one slot for box-office draw for three straight years. At a very young age, she showed her world-class talent and brought home the Juvenile Oscar Award. She was the world’s first child to receive this award. Temple is a natural singer and dancer, and also a talented actress. However, as she grew up, her film charm gradually faded.

Having a lot of movie credits under her name, she decided to retire early and worked as a diplomat and a public figure when she was 22 years old. At one point, she even became one of the delegates for the United Nations General Assembly. She sat on the boards of Del Monte Foods, The Walt Disney Company, and the National Wildlife Federation. She also released a publication, her autobiography titled Child Star, which was released in 1988.
