DORIS DAY – ANIMAL WELFARE ACTIVIST

Doris Day was considered as one of the biggest stars not only in music but in the acting department as well. She had a very charming voice. She achieved world-wide recognition, especially during the 60s and 70s. She’s even one of the elite group of eight performers that became the top-box office earners in the United States four times. That goes to show the talent, charisma, and the overall impact she had in the industry.

After working tirelessly in the industry, she put up an investment together with her son and established a pet-friendly hotel in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California called Cypress Inn. As well-known animal welfare advocate, she clearly considers the well-being of our friendly companions. She ran a hotel that houses animals, which was named after her only son, Terry Melcher, who died before her. Doris was a vegetarian, too.
